موسسه معتبری به نام «بیمه ایمنی بزرگراه‌ها» (اچ‌اس‌ای‌آی) فهرست ایمن‌ترین خودروهای سال را اعلام کرد.
در رده‌بندی سال ۲۰۱۸ این موسسه خودروهای شورولت ولت و هیوندایی النترا در بخش خودروهای کوچک بهترین جایگاه‌‌ها را از آن خود کردند.
کیا سول، کیا فورته، مزدا ۳ و نسخه‌های مختلف سوبارو ایمپرزا در جایگاه‌های بعدی قرار گرفتند.

در رده خودروهای سایز متوسط نیز هوندا آکورد و هیوندایی سوناتا بالاترین رتبه را کسب کردند. کیا اوپتیما و نیسان آلتیما و ماکسیما جایگاه‌های بعدی را از آن خود کردند.
در رده خودروهای لوکس آلفا رومئو جولیا پیش از آئودی ۳ و آئودی ۴ در جایگاه نخست قرار گرفت. بی‌ام‌و سری ۳ و لکسوس آی‌اس هم در رده‌های بعدی قرار گرفتند.
در میان شاسیبلندهای کوچک هوندا سی‌آر-وی از رقبا پیشی گرفت و پس از آن هیوندایی توسان و کیا اسپورتیج و مزدا سی‌ایکس در رده‌های بعدی قرار گرفتند. هوندا پایلوت در میان شاسیبلندهای سایز متوسط ایمن‌ترین خودرو لقب گرفت و هیوندایی سانتافه، سانتافه اسپورت پیش از کیا سورنتو جایگاه‌های دوم و سوم را تصاحب کردند.
